JANUARY: SURPRISE AND CHANGE

The theme in January is "Surprise & Change". (Even BB Bookworm (above) has made a change in his appearance for the New Year theme.)

The New Year is often associated with change, new years resolutions, fresh starts, new beginnings and each year brings its surprises.
Whether change is planned, wanted or unwanted it is part of life. Change can be positive, negative or uncertain. Change can be a surprise - like a surprise visitor changing your life. Surprises can be pleasant & fun or unpleasant & frightening.

People make New Year's Resolutions such as giving up a bad habit. They often look at making changes in their appearance, personal or work lives. For instance: if you look above this post you will see that BB Bookworm has had a change of hair style & outfit!! :-)

Change can be planned, unplanned, wanted or unwanted. It can be pleasant, unpleasant, easy, difficult, large or small.

The change can effect an individual person, a family, a town or the whole world.

Sometimes change is dictated by necessity such as a moving home due to needing a new job in another area. Or a person may have a passion to travel or start a new career.

Major life events such as marriage, birth and death alter our lives immensely.

Often change comes as a surprise. For example: a lottery win, the arrival of a surprise visitor or finding out a surprising secret that will change our lives.

Surprises come in varying forms. For example: Surprise parties, presents and holidays. Or a nasty shock and unpleasant outcome.
